My love affair with London continues. Not a day passes where I don't appreciate everything it has to offer, and when I'm not there a second doesn't pass where I don't miss it. London has become the love of my life, who needs guys anyway?
South Bank is one of my big loves in London. Most venues along the Southbank give you an incredible view of the City, Central London and the rest. A place where ambition thrives, industries grow and dreams become reality. A city like no other - and what better part of London is there to view it from.
The Mondrian Hotel has a name for itself already - with bloggers, celebrities and everyone else loving this venue. Lush interiors, fancy rooms and an almost celebrity guest list - I was eager to find out more. The Mondrian Hotel itself has two bars(that I know of), we tried both. The Dandelyan bar and Rumpus Room.
The ground-floor bar, with incredible views also, is a specialist cocktail bar. With an extensive cocktail menu, and the ability to find something which is tailored to your tastebuds you won't be disappointed. Rum, gin, champagne - this place knows the way to my heart.
The top floor bar, Rumpus Room, is a cocktail bar with a cool interior, and an almost secret feel. I'll set the scene; dark lighting only merely lit with a slight glimmer throughout, rounded tabled seating dangerously good looking people and glass windows overlooking St Pauls which glows in the evening. For me, there is not much else I want from a bar...other than cocktails.
Rumpus Room provides a great cocktail list, albeit a little expensive, which means you won't be stumped for choice. Naturally, to get the night off to a good start, we ordered two Long Island Ice Teas. The strongest on the menu - but still great.
The atmosphere in the Rumpus Room is something which really sold it for me. Although it had the exclusive feel(which I have to admit, I typically hate), you didn't feel out of place - despite the fact I was wearing ripped jeans and looking oh so casual. It was this which really made me fall for Rumpus Room, and I am already eager to return.
If you are on Southbank, or in London even, then it is well worth heading to. I would personally recommend going out of your way to head here purely for the cocktails and views.
