Breakout prone skin? The holy grail item!

I'm not one to jump on the bandwagon with every product people rave about. Don't get me wrong, I love trying new products but once I find a product which works and does the job, it doesn't leave my skincare routine for a very long time. If you followed my blog/twitter/instagram back in April you might remember I took a trip to New York. When in New York my cousin took me to her favourite skincare shop, I cannot remember the name but it was in Union Square! Back in April my skin really wasn't great and it was really getting me down, everyday I would have another breakout and everyday I would feel crappy about it. The lady recommended three products to me - a strong cleanser, a spot zapper and this acid. The product is by a brand called SkinCeuticals and although it isn't as big in the UK as it is in America you are able to buy it online. I can hands down say this product transformed my skin. In a matter of days my spots had completely gone, I applied it twice a day for this to happen.

The product contains salicylic acid and is for actually for ageing skin which is prone to breakouts, however I have not had a single problem with this and the lady assured me it wouldn't be a problem. Although the product smells quite strong of acid, the smell dies down once applied to the skin. I apply it after washing my face, just before I go to bed. Within days of using this product my skin had changed a crazy amount and it also helped prevent breakouts. The only problem I had was that it did dry out my skin after a few days, but using an overnight moisturiser for one night will resolve this.

I can honestly say this is not one of those hype products which claims to be amazing and then is a bit disappointing, it honestly works and has really helped me. Now onto the bit people may not like, the price. When I got this in the US it was around $86 which comes to around £60 something however to buy it in the UK, as it is a US brand, it is £74. The price seems expensive, but for a product which I have been using most days since April and has completely cleared my skin, I would say this price is completely justified. I have only just gone down to half after a good six months of use! If you're looking for a product to finally get rid of those spots, then this is the product for you. If you want to buy this product I have found a website which ships to the UK and you can check it out HERE.

I reaaaaaally recommend trying this product if you're at your wits end with bad skin!

  3. The price is scary high! But my skin really needs it. I might look into it. Do you know if they do samples? Or something smaller than 30ml?
