My Skincare Routine - how I try to prevent breakouts.

Hey lovelies. So I haven't posted for a little while as a lot has been going on and such like, but I am back. If you follow me on Twitter you will know I have been having a lot of trouble with my skin recently. I have never been one of those lucky people who have perfect skin, but it has never been bad enough to make me feel down about myself. Recently this has changed and my skin has been getting increasingly worse leaving me with little confidence and always wanting to cover it. Any girl knows that skin really is important, and spots do get you down. I hear a lot of people say to me "you're skin could be worse" and those comments annoy me. It could be worse I will hands up admit that but for me I don't feel confident with it at the moment. If I had the confidence I would post a picture, but for now I will show you what I have been using recently which has substantially helped calm my skin in a matter of days - I know. I would also like to add that I have been on tablets from the doctor, so it is a combination of all of these products helping to clear my skin.

1. Quinoderm* antibacterial face wash. This face wash has a really lovely consistency and smells amazing, I always do this after using my foaming cleanser - below - as I like to ensure I have no germs on my face. I often worry that my skin gets worse from me touching it, so I avoid that & have been using this to ensure my face is completely clean. I would recommend this as in the short time I have been using this, I have noticed there is less oil on my skin and I haven't had a fresh break out. 2. Pai Geranium and Thistle Combination Skin Cream* has been my after face wash moisturiser and pre-make up moisture. It smells amazing and I find my t-zone doesn't glow as much as it used to (it was so shiny) and it helps reduce the oil in my skin. I have been looking for a moisturiser that I could use on my skin for ages as I didn't want to moisturise incase I got more oily skin or it broke me out, but I have yet to have any problems on  this. With both of these products, I will be doing a full review once I have used them properly and know it is them helping my skin! 3. La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo has been in my skin care routine a few days and I haven't noticed a full difference yet, but the outstanding reviews suggest I will do soon.

4. Simple Foaming Cleanser is something I have been using for about a month now and really enjoy using. For someone with skin which stings at everything, this is perfect. It hasn't hurt my skin or done anything of the sort to it, and it lathers up really well and feels great on my skin. It is so cheap in comparison to some cleansers as well, but works brilliantly! 5. Simple Face Toner is what I use to remove my make up. I was using No7  eye make up remover but have run out and not been able to repurchase as I have not been in town, however I love it nonetheless. Even though I don't have eye make up removed, this is soft enough to use on my eyes and doesn't leave them read or stinging.

Obviously many girls go through acne, I only have a mild case and I have seen a lot worse than I have myself. I think anything which can help reduce it and just inject a little more confidence into you, is worth a try. For me personally, spots really get me down. I hate waking up and seeing a new spot, it is one of those things you can't really avoid but you deeply wish you could. To all those people with perfect skin, I envy you!

Do you have any problem skin? What products do you use to help deal with it?

  1. I came back from a big business trip where my face was clear. When I got home I started breaking out it was so annoying. I finally found some routines that work and got a clarisonic. I totally feel you on how annoying it can be. I will have to check out some of the stuff you mentioned here.

  2. Great post, my skin's usually fine but every now and again it'll just so a bit crazy! I'd not heard of a few of these products, may have to try some out! xo

  3. I use to be prone to the odd break out, but since using the Effaclar Duo, it has improved a lot. Give it some time and I hope it will work for you. xx

  4. Great post - the anti-bacterial face wash is a great idea. I also think a tea tree oil toner along with a natural facial mask regimen is the fastest way to get rid of acne and keep your complexion clean. I use the Moor Mask 21-day stabilization natural treatment program. Thanks!
